BOONSBORO - Roger Adam Ammons, age 64, of Boonsboro, Md., died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at his home.

Born Aug. 21, 1944, in Fairview, W.Va., to the late Ira Stanley and Sylvia Dell Brookeover Ammons.

Roger was employed by Hobart Inc. in Williamsport, Md., until his retirement. Prior to Hobart, Roger had been employed for 21 years by Greyhound Foods at the General Motors Plant in Martinsburg, W.Va. Prior to that, he worked a number of years at Two Guys Dept. Store in Hagerstown, in the vending department.

Roger was a member of Hagerstown Church of Christ on Leitersburg Pike in Hagerstown. He also was a member of AARP and Local 1590 UAW in Martinsburg.

Roger enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Judy Louise Love Ammons of Boonsboro; sons, Roger H. Ammons and his wife, Deanna, of Hagerstown, Timothy B. Ammons and his wife, Carrie, of Hagerstown, and Edward A. Ammons and his wife, Lisa, of Clear Spring; brothers, Jessie Ammons of Youngstown, Ohio, Ronald Ammons of Fairview and Leonard Ammons of Fairview; grandchildren, Taylor L. Ammons, Garrett C. Ammons, Brooke M. Ammons, Lukas H. Ammons, Chase A. Ammons and Madison R. Ammons; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Ammons; and one sister-in-law, Lola Ammons.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A., 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Richard McGough officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, which will be open at 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Burial will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
