EMMITSBURG, Md. - Anna Mae (Kipe) Helfrick, 90, a resident of St. Catherine's Nursing Center, and formerly of 105 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at the nursing center.

Born June 23, 1918, in Middleburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Earl W. and Daisy B. Sprenkle Kipe.

Her husband, Richard T. Helfrick, died Nov. 22, 1961. They were married Dec. 3, 1937.

She was last employed as a nurse's aide at Quincy United Methodist Home, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro, and Married Couples Sunday school class.

She was a member of the former North Chapter 739 AARP.

She is survived by five daughters, Dora Reiber and Nancy Creager, both of Waynesboro, Mary C. Fogle of New Oxford, Pa., Virginia Houpt of Greencastle, Pa., and Barbara Dick of Fairfield, Pa.; one son, Dennis R. Helfrick of Shippensburg, Pa.; two sisters, Pearl Friese of Chambersburg and Janet D. Wenger of Shippensburg; seven brothers, Richard E. Kipe and Charles C. Kipe, both of Mercersburg, Pa., Benjamin F. Kipe, Harry L. Kipe, the Rev. Vaughn E. Kipe and Daniel L. Kipe, all of Chambersburg, and the Rev. Elmer T. Kipe of Camp Hill, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Richard E. Helfrick; four sisters, Nona J. Barnes and Daisy M. Altland, and two infant sisters; one brother, Samuel W. Kipe; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro. Pastor Walter A. Stuart will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
