A $1,300 Maryland Association for Bank Security scholarship was awarded to Erin Barndollar, 28, of Hagerstown, a student a Kaplan College in Hagerstown.
Barndollar, who is pursuing an associate degree in criminal justice, began classes at Kaplan College in July.
The Kaplan College Hagerstown campus was selected by MABS to receive the scholarship for a criminal justice student of Kaplan's choice.
"This is the first time a student from Kaplan College has received a scholarship from MABS," W. Christopher Motz, president of Kaplan College's Hagerstown campus, said in a prepared release.
Throughout the year, MABS holds fundraising events and uses the money for scholarship funds at a local college that offers a criminal justice program.
