Frazier, Sandusky are All-WVIAC

Shepherd University junior midfielder Jeffers Frazier and junior defender Jeff Sandusky were named to the All-West Virginia Conference squad.

Frazier, a first-team choice, led the Rams with nine goals and three assists for 28 points.

Sandusky, an honorable mention choice, led a Rams defense that had five shutouts. He recorded two goals and two assists.


Pitt-Johnstown 3, Shepherd 0

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The University of Pitt-Johnstown swept Shepherd University 25-14, 25-20, 25-21 in first-round action at the Charleston Catholic Sports Complex. Shepherd completes its season 11-22.

Rams' Robertson honored

Shepherd University outside hitter Julie Robertson was named to the All-West Virginia Conference team, selected by the league's head coaches.

Robertson, an honorable mention selection, was one of the team's top all-around players with 190 kills and 310 digs.


Crawford in NYC Marathon


Robert Crawford, 59, of Cascade, recently completed the New York City Marathon for the 21st time. He covered the 26.2 miles in 4 hours, 49 minutes and 1 second, placing 25,726th out of 38,750 runners.

Crawford's best time on the course is his 3:44:18 from 1994.


HCC Turkey Trot 5K

The eighth annual Hagerstown Community College Turkey Trot 5K will be held Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 27) at the college.

Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9.

The Mashed Potato Races for kids start at 10.
