Family night set for Friday



On Friday, families of Western Heights Middle School are invited to a family night event from 5 to 7 p.m. During the event, Wolfgang candy will be available for pickup for students. If you prefer an earlier pickup, the PTSA will be available for candy pickup starting at 4 p.m.

The students and staff will continue their traditional of playing dodgeball games at the event. Various dodgeball elimination games will be held. Pizza and drinks will be served at an minimal cost.

The PTSA of Western Heights will be offering hoodies and T-shirts for purchase.

PTSA meeting to be Tuesday



Please make a note that the next WHMS PTSA meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. in the media center. The PTSA will be discussing bylaws and looking to fill a vacancy on the executive committee.

The WHMS PTSA would like to thank everyone who participated in the Wolfgang candy fundraiser. Here are the top sellers for each grade: sixth grade - Marcus Hayes, $475.28; seventh grade - Taylor Jones, $1211.27; eighth grade - Michelle Wolfe, $392.73.

Each of the students will receive two movie passes and a WHMS T-shirt.

Lions Club plans craft table at event



The West Hagerstown Lions women will have a Christmas craft table at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds go to charity.

Craft show



The 25th annual Kris Kringle Craft and Gift Show will be Nov. 22 and 23 at Hagerstown Community College in the ARCC.

Admission is free, parking is free and there will be a golf cart shuttle available.

Nonperishable foods and new toy items will be collected for Christmas baskets to be given to needy families. The baskets will be donated to Trinity Lutheran Church.

The organizers also are looking for volunteers, clubs, etc., that would like to help at the free gift wrap station or door prize table.

Any high school student willing to volunteer will earn service hours.
