Money bonanza

The Williamsport Community Band will hold a money bonanza Saturday at the Williamsport Fire Hall.

Tickets cost $30 per couple. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

The first and every tenth ticket drawn wins $30. Ticket No. 1 will be raffled off during the evening and guaranteed to be in the last five tickets with one of those being the grand prize winner of $1,000. A dance follows the raffle. Refreshments will be provided.

French to speak

Steve French, local Civil War historian, will be the featured speaker at the Williamsport Library on Nov. 17, starting at 7 p.m. The event will be held in the library's lower level.

Town Museum

The Town Museum will be open the next two Sundays. A special display of Samantha Brown's photos of the recent USO World War II weekend will be on display.


The museum will be closed December, January and February, opening again in March with "Radios, Radios and More Radios" from a private collection.

Town parade

The Williamsport town parade will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, starting at 5 p.m. If your group would like to participate in the parade, please call Town Hall at 301-223-7711 to register.

Trolley ride to parade

Would you like to ride in the town Christmas parade on the trolley used for Williamsport Days? On Dec. 5, be at Parkview Knolls to be picked up by the trolley between 4 and 4:15 p.m. The trolley will join in the parade, stop at Byron Memorial Park for the town employees Christmas lighting ceremony and the official start of the Christmas season. The trolley will then return to Parkview Knolls.

Open house

The Williamsport Ministerium Churches' Christmas open house will be held on Sunday, Dec. 28. Tickets cost $5, which includes admission to all participating churches. Tickets will be available at each church, Town Hall and Osborne Funeral Home during regular business hours.

Country churches will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. and town churches will be open from 4 to 6 p.m.

Visitors will enjoy a reflection of how local churches celebrate this special time of the Christian year. The event will benefit the restoration of Riverview Cemetery.

Sydney Quartucci from Mrs. Small's class and Kevin Mills from Mrs. Smith's class. Outstanding class participation includes: kindergarten - Lindner class; first grade - Deuell's class; second grade - Green Group; third grade - Green Group; fourth grade - Blue Group; fifth grade - Blue Group.
