Cardiac Rehabiliation receives recertification
The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Washington County Hospital recently received recertification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The goal of certification and recertification is to assure that the program meets the highest standards of care in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Washington County Hospital's program received a three-year certification in 2002 and was recertified in 2005 and 2008.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Washington County Hospital is a comprehensive lifestyle program for individuals who have had a heart attack, coronary bypass, valve replacement or balloon angioplasty.
It includes monitored exercise by a registered nurse and education classes on topics such as heart-healthy eating, exercise and stress management. The program has about 280 patient visits per month.
