MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Five women between the ages of 27 and 48 were arrested Thursday on charges of solicitation of prostitution, the Martinsburg Police Department announced Friday.

The women arrested were:

  • Tasha Schell, 27, of 410 S. Tennessee Ave., Martinsburg

  • Jennifer Lyn Carson, 27, of 207 N. Boundary St., Ranson, W.Va.

  • Trineka T. Steward, 32, no fixed address

  • Judy Rae Smith, 44, of 144 Caplinger Drive, Martinsburg

  • Anna Mae Rice, 48, of 46 Capital Drive, Martinsburg.

Berkeley County Magistrate Harry L. Snow set a $5,000 bond for each woman in arraignment hearings Friday, records show.

The amount charged for sexual services allegedly solicited to a police informant ranged from $20 to $60, according to complaints filed against the women by Martinsburg Police Department Detective Cpl. S.F. Doyle.

Carson allegedly solicited the informant at the Martinsburg train station, while Steward and Schell allegedly solicited on South Raleigh Street, court records show. Rice is accused of soliciting in the 100 block of East Moler Avenue, and Smith was arrested after police said she engaged the informant in the 900 block of North Queen Street, according to court records.
