Driver injured in crash with bus carrying Springfield Middle School students

No students were hurt in a school bus accident Thursday morning near the intersection of Halfway Boulevard and Interstate 81, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Halfway Boulevard when a car collided with a school bus on its way to Springfield Middle School, police said.

The driver of the car was injured and taken to Washington County Hospital, police said.

Neither the bus driver or students on the bus were hurt, according to police.

Students on the bus were put on another bus and taken to school, Washington County Public Schools Spokesman Richard Wright said.
