The top five things to do this weekend

November 06, 2008

It's a can't-miss matchup. The Boonsboro Warriors and Smithsburg Leopards -- both unbeaten this season -- face off Friday night at 7 in Boonsboro. The other big matchup at 7 p.m. Friday is the Hagerstown Gridiron Championship Classic at South Hagerstown High School. The North Hagerstown High Hubs lead the South High Rebels 26-24-1 in the series.

Artists on display

It's never too early to start Christmas shopping. The Over the Mountain Studio Tour in Jefferson County, W.Va., features 20 professional artisans who will open their studios from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It's free for the tour, but you might want to take your wallet in case you see anything that catches your eye.

Crafty comedian

Amy Sedaris, known for her run as the ex-drug addict Jerri on "Strangers with Candy," will appear Friday, Nov. 7, at the Weinberg Center in Frederick, Md. She'll be interviewed, do a Q&A and, oh yeah, give a craft demonstration. Seriously.

Drama with 'Dracula'

Watch out, Smithsburg residents! He wants to drink your blood! Smithsburg High School presents "Dracula" tonight through Saturday.

Roping 'em in

Heeeeeere's Andy! Once again, Andy Rotz shows off his trick-ropin' skills this holiday season as Antietam Recreation's Cowboy Christmas Dinner & Show starts Saturday.
