Veterans Day services scheduled in Franklin County

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The annual Community Veterans Day Service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Letterkenny Chapel of the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.

The service is jointly sponsored by the United Churches of the Chambersburg Area and the Joint Veterans Council of Chambersburg.

The guest speaker will be Chaplain (Maj.) Justin P. Isbister, retired Army Chapel. Isbister received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern University and his master of divinity degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Mo.

He has received the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the National defense Service medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the GWT Service Medal, among other awards.

Col. Robert Leasure, DRISC, will speak on behalf of Letterkenny Army Depot.

Charles Nitterhouse Veterans of Foreign War Post 1599 will present the colors and lead a patriotic ceremony in front of the chapel as the service concludes.


All are invited. Veterans are encouraged to come in uniform.

n A joint Veterans Day ceremony will coincide with the dedication of the Greencastle-Antrim Veterans Memorial on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Borough Hall in Greencastle, Pa.

Guest speakers will include state Sen. Terry Punt, R-Franklin, and state Rep. Todd Rock, R-Franklin.

The public is invited.
