Internet safety is topic of Nov. 15 workshop in Hagerstown



Parents who want to know how to protect their children in cyberspace can attend a free program on Children and the Dangers of the Internet on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hagerstown Plaza Hotel, 1718 Underpass Way.

Cpl. Joe Linton of the Maryland State Police will lead the program, which is sponsored by the Maryland-South Delaware District of Optimist International.

Christy Sharp will speak on Jessica's Law and Amber Alerts.

Habitat to benefit from portion of sales



Ten Thousand Villages will donate 15 percent of its sales on Saturday to Habitat for Humanity of Washington County on purchases made between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items.

Ten Thousand Villages is at 13625 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown.
