As in the past, Lou Scally will be the master of ceremonies. Music will be provided by Panache Entertainment. There will be face painting by Mary Jane Koontz for the children. Magicians Hugh McVeagh, Dean Burkitt and Jim Greer will entertain.

Cascade Elementary School
Anyone interested in purchasing a Cascade Elementary T-shirt should stop by or call the school office at 301-766-8066. The shirts cost $10 each.
A PTA meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m.
Smithsburg Middle School
The school is still looking for assistance in providing students with $5 gift cards to Borders.
The gift cards are issued to students who complete the 25-book challenge. Last year, the school handed out 96 gift cards to students. So far, the school has collected $65 in donations.

National Cathedral trip
Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education is offering a one-day motor coach trip to the Washington National Cathedral, titled "Washington National Cathedral Angels Tour and Tea," on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The tour will specifically focus on the angels that are depicted throughout the National Cathedral in a variety of forms, including stained glass, needlepoint, woodcarving and stone carving. The tour will also feature selected areas of the National Cathedral that are not typically open to the public.
Following the tour, participants will be invited to take part in a full tea service in the St. Paul Room of the Pilgrim's Observation Gallery. Tea service includes an array of scones, sweets and finger sandwiches. The tour will end with a visit to the Cathedral Museum Bookstore and the Herb Cottage Gift Shop.
The trip costs $75, which includes fully equipped motor coach transportation and gratuity, all entrance fees, full-service tea, and a private, guided tour of the National Cathedral. For more information or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
