Part of street will be closed for Hagerstown event

A portion of South Potomac Street will be closed today at 5:30 p.m. to all traffic, in conjunction with the Wind Down Friday event at The Maryland Theatre, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.

The City of Hagerstown anticipates the street will be reopened to traffic at 11 p.m., according to the release.

South Potomac Street will be closed to all vehicles between Washington and Antietam streets. This section of South Potomac Street will remain open to pedestrian traffic, and motorists will be able to access the Arts & Entertainment District parking deck, according to the release.

Traffic approaching the closure will be detoured around the area via East Washington Street, South Mulberry Street, and Antietam and Baltimore streets.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the section of South Potomac Street during the closure.
