Happy Halloween

May all the ghosts, ghouls and goblins have a spooky Halloween! I am looking forward to trick or treat on the West End. We always have such a huge turnout of so many wonderful families. Remember to be safe and have fun!

Western Heights Middle School Band

Good luck to all the band members as they prepare for the Alsatia Mummers Parade!

West Hagerstown Lions Club

On Saturday, before and during the Alastia Mummers Parade, the West Hagerstown Lions Club will sell hot dogs, steamers and more. The food stand will be in the parking lot across from the parking deck on North Potomac Street.

The ladies of West Hagerstown Lions Club will sell their Christmas crafts at the Elks on Saturday, Nov. 15. Details will be provided closer to the date.

Barbershop chorus show

The Mason Dixon Barbershop Chorus will present its annual fundraising show Saturday, Nov. 15, at HCC's Kepler Theater.

This year's event is titled "Grandpa's Attic" with local actor Dick Hershey as Grandpa and Holden Hershey as his grandson. The Freedom Valley Sweet Adeline Chorus from Chambersburg, Pa., will perform, as well as Carousel, Crowning Touch and Uncalled-4.

Tickets cost $8 to $12, depending on age.

Day on the farm

The kindergarten students from Salem Avenue Elementary School recently took a field trip to Reynolds Farm. The students learned about the farm and how a pumpkin grows. Everyone went on a hayride to the pumpkin field, where picked their own pumpkins. Each class was also able to select a larger pumpkin for its classroom.
