Washington County Museum
of Fine Arts Annual Treasure Sale<.H3>

The Singer Society of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will hold its ninth annual Treasure Sale Nov. 8. Items are now being accepted for the sale. If you have "treasures" you no longer want - art works, china, crystal, silver, furniture, rugs, games, costume jewelry - anything but clothing and appliances, please bring them to the museum or phone 301-739-5727 for pickup. All donations are tax-deductible.

The Preview Reception will be Friday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission for the reception is $10 and includes refreshments. The Treasure Sale will be Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bowman Memorial Recital at museum



The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present pianist Lura Johnson and cellist Ilya Finkelshteyn in concert for the annual Mary B. K. Bowman Memorial Recital Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2:30 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception hosted by members of the Museum's volunteer association, The Singer Society. Selections will include Barber Cello Sonata, Grieg Cello Sonata, and Schumann Adagio and Allegro.

Blood drives



o Monday, Oct. 27, Funkstown American Legion from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the Hagerstown Donor Center, 1131 Conrad Court, from noon to 6 p.m.

o Wednesday, Oct. 29, Hagerstown Donor Center, 1131 Conrad Court, from noon to 6 p.m.

o Friday, Oct. 31, Country Inns and Suites, by Valley Mall from 1 to 7 p.m.

While supplies last, each presenting donor will receive a $2 coupon for "Saw V" and is entered to win a $20 Regal Gift Card!

Neighborhoods 1st Locust Point



Neighborhoods 1st will be having a children's Halloween party Oct. 30, at the Locust Point Market lot from 6 to 8 p.m. Children 12 and younger are invited to come in costume for fun and refreshments. Free glow bracelets will be given out at the party and on trick or treat night to promote safety for the children.

Hagerstown Lions Club



The guest speaker at Tuesday's meeting will be Boyd Michael, deputy superintendent of Washington County Schools.

Women's Business Workshop



A Women's Business Workshop will be held Nov. 3, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Academy Theater and Banquet Center in Hagerstown. Tonya Leary, Owner, T.S. Leary Associates, will present the topic "Power of Influence - Awaken the Coach Within!"

Grand Sunday Brunch



The American Cancer Society, Washington County will be holding it's 19th Annual Grand Sunday Brunch, Nov. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Next Dimensions Restaurant.

We will be honoring our "Road to Recovery" volunteers. These trained volunteers give of their time to transport cancer patients to and from treatment.

As in the past Lou Scally will be our master of ceremony. Music will be provided by Panache Entertainment. There will be face painting by Mary Jane Koontz for children. Returning magicians, Hugh McVeagh, Dean Burkitt and Jim Greer will be entertaining all ages.
