Chewsville Lions Club recognized for work with vision research

At the Oct. 7 meeting of the Chewsville Lions Club, District Governor Lion Susan Timmons made her official visit to the club.

Visitors in attendance at the meeting were Lion Paul Leatherman, cabinet secretary, and Lion Rodney Timmons.

Susan Timmons presented the club with seven pyramids representing donations that the club made to the Lions Vision Research Foundation over the past few years.

The Chewsville Lions Club has the following items for sale:

One-pound Benson fruitcakes, two-pound Benson fruitcakes, peanut brittle and peanut butter fudge.

Also available from any club member are chances on a raffle of 12 boneless football hams at $5 per chance.

The drawing for the hams will be Nov. 18, in time for Thanksgiving.
