Palin scheduled to visit Shippensburg on Tuesday

October 24, 2008

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be making a campaign stop Tuesday at Shippensburg University, Franklin County Commissioner Bob Thomas said Thursday night.

Thomas announced at the Franklin County Association of Township Officials fall convention that the Alaska governor will be at Heiges Field House at 2:15 p.m.

The event is free, but those planning to attend will need tickets, which Thomas said could be available through the county Republican Committee by this weekend.

Pennsylvania, with its 21 electoral votes, is a key battleground state for the Republican and Democratic presidential campaigns. Thomas said this is the first visit by a presidential or vice presidential candidate to the area in many years.
