ATV accident victim in intensive care

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A man who wrecked an all-terrain vehicle Monday on Tub Run Hollow Road was being treated for facial fractures and pulmonary bruising at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center, according to a press release from West Virginia State Police First Sgt. E.D. Burnett.

Burnett said Gregg Hutzler, 44, was in intensive care at the Virginia hospital.

Hutzler was not wearing a helmet when the crash was reported to emergency dispatchers at 5:34 p.m. Hutzler was thrown from the ATV after the vehicle left Tub Run Hollow Road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Woman sentenced for mail theft

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Hedgesville, W.Va., woman was sentenced to serve six months in prison this week after entering a guilty plea to mail theft while working as a rural mail carrier, U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter's office announced Wednesday.

Jennifer Susan Nice, 25, entered the plea to a one-count indictment on Aug. 11, according to Potter's office.

The case against Nice was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

Illegal aliens sentenced in federal court

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Three Mexican citizens who police alleged entered the U.S. illegally and were living in Martinsburg have received prison sentences after entering guilty pleas in July, U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter's office announced Wednesday.

o Jesus Garcia Pena, 28, was sentenced to 46 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.

o Gilberto Vega Reyes, 50, was sentenced to 10 months in prison. He was credited for time served and placed on two years of supervised release.

o Elio Villatoro Ruiz, 32, was sentenced to 46 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.
