Business workshop to be held Nov. 3

On Monday, Nov. 3, Tonya Leary, owner of T.S. Leary Associates, will lead a workshop titled "Power of Influence - Awaken the Coach Within."

The event is co-sponsored by Hagerstown Business and Professional Women and Small Business Development Center.

The workshop costs $20 for dinner and the program or $15 for the program only. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Academy Theater in downtown Hagerstown.

Fall frolic

The Women's Club, at 31 S. Prospect St., will hold its fall frolic Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Crossroads Garden Club creations, homemade items, baked goods and raffle tickets for a Thanksgiving turkey dinner will be available for purchase. Lunch will be served.


Orders for chicken corn, vegetable beef and ham and bean soups for $5 a quart or $2.50 a pint, country ham sandwiches for $2.50 each, and apple dumplings at $2.75 each cab be ordered by calling the Women's Club at 301-739-0870.


On Saturday, Meadows Original Frozen Custard, at 222 E. Oak Ridge Drive in the South Pointe Shopping Center in Hagerstown, will host an old-fashioned cruise-in to help raise donations for the Humane Society of Washington County.

The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. and will feature music from the 1950s, antique cars and fresh made ice cream.

Meadows will give away one free small cone for every donation made to the shelter. There will also be a drawing to win a $5 gift certificate or a Meadows T-shirt. The event is an open invitation for all antique car enthusiasts to bring their vehicles to Meadows and share their love of old cars with fellow aficionados.
