Kishwaukee Tournament

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. -- Hagerstown Community College dropped two matches on Saturday and finished 2-4 over the three-day tournament.

The Hawks lost Saturday to Indian Hills, Iowa, 25-19, 25-15, 25-21, and to Parkland, Ill., 25-15, 25-22, 26-24.

Parkland is ranked seventh in NJCAA Division II.

Tara Garver had 34 assists and 20 digs to lead HCC on Saturday. Becca Morgan had 14 kills and 18 digs, Morena Ribeiro had seven kills and 22 digs, Hailee Growden had 16 digs, Julia Becker had nine kills, eight digs and six blocks, and Kierra Nelson added seven kills.


Rams' Hersh earns WVIAC defensive honors

Shepherd University junior defensive back Layton Hersh was named a co-West Virginia Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his effort Saturday in a 27-12 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan.


Hersh had 12 tackles and two pass breakups, and recovered a fumble for Shepherd (4-4) in the victory.
