HCC students plan relay to help Habitat

October 19, 2008

A group of students at Hagerstown Community College in the Legal Environment of Business class is planning a relay event as a class project this fall to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Washington County.

These HCC students are organizing the relay as a fundraiser to be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, on the ARCC track. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the public is welcome to attend.

The relay runners from HCC will be carrying a bag of cement around the track continuously during the five-hour event. The students are asking the community for donations for the fundraiser. Pledges per lap and overall donations will be accepted from the community.

To make a donation, make checks out to Habitat for Humanity of Washington County with the notation of "Cement Relay" and mail to the Habitat office at 20 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740, or you may bring donations to HCC on the day of the relay.
