HCC at Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Hagerstown Community College men placed 12th out of 19 teams, while its women finished 18th out of 21 teams at the Gettysburg Invitational.

Corey Centofonti led the HCC men on the 8-kilometer course, placing 38th in 26:56. Also for the Hawks, Justin Cole was 57th in 27:15, Jeremiah Wilt was 63rd in 27:22, Wade Miller was 97th in 27:51 and Ryan Shifler was 103rd in 27:59.

In the women's 6-kilometer race, Jordan Atha finished 30th in 24:02 for HCC, while Elizabeth Leitman was 165th in 27:42, Samantha Valiton was 219th in 31:31, Kimberly Adams was 220th in 31:34 and Victoria Hume was 230th in 35:13.



Shepherd 10, Ohio Valley 0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Kellie Wagner had two goals and two assists to lead Shepherd to the WVIAC win over Ohio Valley (1-14, 1-6).

Brianna Hines and Lindsay Russell each had two goals for the Rams (6-10, 3-6), while Melanie Ranslem, Rachel Dewberry, Kristen Furst and Christina Koontz each added a goal in the victory.


Prep football team can win a gameday with 'Skins' Campbell

Powerade is sponsoring a contest in which an area high school football team will win a gameday experience with Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell.

The contest is open to high school football players in Virginia, D.C. and Maryland. Entrants must submit a short essay detailing why they believe their team is deserving of a game day experience with Campbell. The winner's team will get the opportunity to travel to FedEx Field, run drills on the field and get tips from Campbell.

Entries can be submitted on The winning team will be announced Nov. 1.
