Convoy of hope

Hagerstown Convoy of Hope will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at E. Russell Hicks Middle School, 1321 S. Potomac St. The event will be held rain or shine.

Hagerstown Convoy of Hope offers free groceries, hair cuts, and a health fair, while supplies last.

Etiquette classes

Blossom School of Etiquette will offer etiquette classes beginning Monday, Oct. 20, at Memorial Recreation Center, 109 W. North Ave., Hagerstown. Classes are free. The small classes are for girls ages 6 to 17 and offer instruction on manners, self esteem and confidence.

Camp Joy El Jumpstart

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -Camp Joy El will host Jumpstart, a weekend event for campers in grades six to nine Friday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 2. Jumpstart's theme is "The Great Escape."


Zach Camp, a motocross rider and chaplain, will be the event's speaker. Activities include go-karts, group games, a campfire and more.

Camp also will set up a hands-on exhibit of his motocross bike and equipment.

Stewardship banquet

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -A stewardship banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Camp Joy El, 3741 Joy-El Drive.

Anyone involved in Joy El Ministries' programs or who wants to learn more about Joy El's programs is invited. Guests will hear testimonies from students and volunteers.

Youth conference

The Alive 2008: Quest youth conference will provide an opportunity for middle school students and youth leaders to dig deeper into their spiritual lives, Friday, Nov. 21, to Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Ocean City, (Md.) Convention Center.
