Senior Center plans grand opening at Girls Inc. Oct. 21

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, from noon to 1:30 p.m., the Washington County Commission on Aging will hold its grand opening of the Senior Center at Girls 626 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.

Entertainment and refreshments will be provided.

West Hagerstown Lions Club

The West Hagerstown Lions Club's next meeting is on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at Washington Square United Methodist Church. Speakers for the evening will be Detective Ryan Shifflet from the Washington County Narcotics Task Force Gang Unit and Lt. Todd Dunkle from the Hagerstown Police Department. They will talk about gang-related activities in Washington County. For reservations, call Donna at 301-790-2036.

The club is still selling Bon-Ton Community Day coupon booklets for $5 each. The club gets $5 and you get a $10 coupon. If you would like a booklet, call Fran at 240-313-9222. All the money the club receives goes to charity.


Salvation Army Homecoming Sunday

On Sunday, Lt. David and Barbara Jeffrey from the Salvation Army National Headquarters will be visiting the Hagerstown Corps at the corner of George and Wise Streets.

They were formerly commanding officers in Hagerstown.

The Homecoming celebration is open to all beginning at 10:45 a.m. in the chapel.
