Allegany Dental helps Habitat effort

Allegany Dental Care took part in a community service project on Oct. 4. Doctors, staff and their families rolled up their sleeves and grabbed a shovel to help at Habitat for Humanity. They worked at the Women Build Houses on Concord Street.

Community day

The Church of the Holy Trinity, United Church of Christ, at 17805 Oak Ridge Drive (off Halfway Boulevard), will host its annual fall community day Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine.)

Included will be a yard sale, live music and children's activities. Baked goods, homemade soups and sandwiches will also be available. Yard sale tables will be available for $15 each. For more information, call the church office at 301-739-0702.

Lions Club

The Lions Club of Halfway has recently taken inventory of its medical home care supplies. In addition to wheelchairs, the club has an assortment of bathtub and potty seats, canes, crutches, plus a variety of walkers. For more information, call Carol Miller at 240-313-2553 or 301-733-1741.


Trick or treat

The Halfway area (the area behind the Sheetz store on Virginia Avenue) will hold trick-or-treat night on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. Those interested in participating are asked to please turn on an outdoor light.

Hager House

Witchcraft hysteria was not just limited to Salem. Get the opportunity to visit the Jonathan Hager House and Museum in City Park on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. to learn about witches from Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, go to
