Fall in all its glory

Good morning, friends. Fall is here in all its glorious colors. It seems that just this past weekend Mother Nature opened her box of crayons and had a blast. Take a drive and see what has happened to the landscape.

A quick plug for South Hagerstown High School's homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 24. Hopefully, the weather will be spectacular and the team victorious. The homecoming dance is the following evening, Saturday, Oct. 25.

I know that the alumni association is planning a tailgate party just prior to the game, so be sure to get your party hats on and come over to root for the home team.

Fall frolic planned

The Women's Club, at 31 S. Prospect St. in Hagers-town, will hold its Fall Frolic Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to Crossroads Garden Club creations, there will be homemade items, baked goods available and raffle tickets for a Thanksgiving turkey dinner.

Soups, sandwiches and dumplings will also be available. To order, call 301-739-0870.

Open enrollment

The Washington County Commission on Aging would like to remind everyone about its open enrollment for Medicare Part D Prescriptions. On Tuesday, Nov. 18, open enrollment will be at the Commission on Aging from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Bring your Medicare card and your complete list of prescriptions.

An open enrollment will also be Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Senior Center at Girls Inc. on the second floor in the computer lab from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Other sessions will be at the Commission on Aging on Thursday, Nov. 20, and again on the following Tuesday, Nov. 25.
