South High band wins division at Tournament of Bands

The South Hagerstown High School marching band took first place in Division III at the sixth annual Hidden River Classic Tournament of Bands in Schuylkill, Pa.

South scored 83.25 out of 100 points, its best score of the year.

Rummage sale

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, at 802 Summit Ave., will hold a rummage sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A food and bake sale will also be held.

Art group to meet

Valley Art Association will meet Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Mansion House Art Gallery in City Park.

Following the meeting, artist Janet Salter will give a demonstration.

Locust Point group to meet

Neighborhoods 1st Locust Point will hold its next meeting Tuesday in the Bester Elementary School library at 7 p.m.


The next networking meeting will be Oct. 20 at City Hall, fourth floor, room 407, at 5 p.m. All neighborhood groups are encouraged to attend.

Pajama night

On Tuesday, Emma K. Doub Elementary School will hold pajama night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Milk and cookies will be served and there will be guest readers.

Hagerstown Lions Club

Tuesday - Dr. Michael S. DeCriscio will talk about topics related to chiropractics at the Hagerstown Lions Club meeting.
