Hagerstown Country Western Dance Club holds pirate theme dance

October 12, 2008

Hagerstown Country Western Dance Club recently held a special theme dance at the Maugansville Ruritan.

The Pirate Dance offered DVD movie prizes for the best male and female pirate costume and for the winner of a game, "Pass the Coconut Bomb, Steal a Prize" from the treasure chest.

Dancers come from as far away as Cumberland, Md., West Virginia and Carlisle, Pa., to dance at the club's monthly dances. Ages of the dancers range from Emma Carbaugh, who is 9 years old, to the most senior member who is 80.

The club features line dances which alternate with couples' dances like the waltz, cha cha, two step, West Coast swing and other special country dances. This enables singles to enjoy dances also.
