Ask SCORE - Options are available for answering questions

October 12, 2008|By BOB POOR

Q: A couple of times, I have set daytime appointments with a local SCORE counselor. Since I work "down the road," I couldn't make it back to Hagerstown in time for the appointments. Are there any options to daytime appointments? Also, have you changed the location of the SCORE tax workshop?

A: SCORE is a national association of active and retired businessmen and women who volunteer to share their expertise with small businesses and new business startups, as well as those who are thinking about going into business. All forms of free one-on-one and group business counseling and mentoring, plus low-cost seminars and workshops are available. For details, call 301-739-2015, ext. 103, or go to www.scorehagerstown.org.

To answer your question, here are your counseling options:

· Counseling. Meet with one of our experienced advisers for a confidential one-on-one session at our downtown location.

· Field counseling. We will come to your place of business for an in-depth assessment of your business needs.

The workshop will be Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Center for Business and Training at 14 N. Potomac St., Suite 200, in Hagerstown, adjacent to the city parking area.

To register prior to Oct. 28, call 301-739-2015, ext. 103, or send an e-mail with your name, address, phone number and e-mail address to info@scorehagerstown.org. Seating is limited.
