Church to hold rummage/ bake sale on Saturday

Zion Assembly of God, at 13814 Village Mill Drive in Maugansville, will have a rummage/bake sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. All proceeds are going to the church building fund project. For more information, call 301-739-3888.

Trick-or-treat night set for Friday, Oct. 31

The Maugansville area will be have its treat-or-treat night on Friday, Oct.31, from 6 to 8 p.m. The homes participating are asked to leave their front porch light on. Any areas surrounding Maugansville, such as Orchard Hills, are welcome to participate.

Little League seeks managers for next season

Maugansville Little League is accepting letters of interest for managers of all divisions for the 2009 baseball season. Letters of interest may be given to any board member or mailed to P.O. Box 266, Maugansville, MD 21767. Please indicate which division you are interested in managing. Deadline for submitting letters of interest is Nov. 10.


Soup and sandwich sale Saturday

Grace United Methodist Church, at 712 Church St. in Hagerstown, will be offering a soup and sandwich sale Saturday.

Roast beef sandwiches cost $3, vegetable soup costs $2.50 per bowl or $4 per quart, and homemade apple dumplings cost $3. The food will be available for carry-out only.

Slippery potpie dinner

On Oct. 25, Grace United Methodist will host a slippery potpie dinner at the church. Tickets cost $8.50 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased in advance (recommended) by calling Murray at 301-797-6567 or the church office. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The menu includes chicken or ham slippery potpie, peas, applesauce, roll, coffee or tea, and dessert. Country ham sandwiches will be available for $3 each.
