Grace United plans meal deals

Grace United Methodist Church will be offering a soup and sandwich sale Saturday.

Roast beef sandwiches cost $3, vegetable soup costs $2.50 per bowl or $4 per quart, and homemade apple dumplings cost $3. The food will be available for carry-out only.

On Oct. 25, Grace United Methodist will host a slippery pot pie dinner at the church. Tickets cost $8.50 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased in advance (recommended) by calling Murray at 301-797-6567 or the church office. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The menu includes chicken or ham slippery potpie, peas, applesauce, roll, coffee or tea, and dessert. Country ham sandwiches will be available for $3 each.

Senior Citizens Club plans to meet today

The West Hagerstown Senior Citizens Club will meet today at Grace United Methodist Church starting at 10:30 a.m.

The meeting will feature a workshop by Equipped for Life. The workshop will touch on the services that are available to seniors.

As always, feel free to pack a lunch so that you may enjoy the company of others.

Cruise-in at custard shop

On Oct. 25, Meadows Original Frozen Custard, at 222 E. Oak Ridge Drive in the South Pointe Shopping Center in Hagerstown, will host an old-fashioned cruise-in to help raise money for the Humane Society of Washington County. The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and will feature music from the 1950s, antique cars and fresh-made ice cream.

Meadows will give away one free small cone for every donation made to the shelter. There will also be a drawing to win a $5 gift certificate or a Meadows T-shirt. Antique car enthusiasts are invited to bring their vehicles to Meadows and share their love of vintage cars with fellow aficionados.
