Martinsburg man stabbed in fight

16-year-old charged

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A 21-year-old Martinsburg man was stabbed Wednesday morning in a fight in the 200 block of South Kentucky Avenue, Martinsburg City Police said in a news release.

A 16-year-old boy, who was also wounded in the fight, was charged with malicious wounding. He was arraigned by a magistrate and was detained by the court, the release said.

Thomas T. Nicholson III, of West King Street, Martinsburg, was stabbed in the head, the back of his neck and in the back with what appeared to be a razor knife, police said. He was treated at City Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released, police said.

The 16-year-old was also treated at City Hospital for his wounds, the release said.

Police received the call about the fight at about 1:30 a.m. The fight was a result of an ongoing disagreement between the two, the release said.
