Autumn arrives

Brrrrrr ... how are you enjoying these crisp fall mornings? I find it all to be quite nice. Nights are perfectly cool for sleeping and afternoons are nothing short of glorious. Yes indeed, I will enjoy this fall. October tends to be a fairly busy month, with shopping for the perfect homecoming dress to shopping for the most ghoulish Halloween costume. I see plenty of shopping in my future. Aside from the aforementioned trips for attire, let's see what else we can get into.

PTA meets Thursday

On Thursday, the PTA will meet at South Hagerstown High School at 6 p.m. There is much to be done and your help is needed. There will be a Chicago UNO's fundraiser from Oct. 24 to 28. All you need to do is stop by the main office and pick up your coupon and head over for dinner.

Sweet deal

What was your favorite television show from your childhood? One of mine was "Happy Days" ... I guess the name of the show said it all. It was not real days ... not drama days ... not scare the tar out of you days ... just Happy Days.

We can revisit those Happy Days on Oct. 25 at Meadows Original Frozen Custard at 222 E. Oak Ridge Drive in the South Pointe Shopping Center.

The store will host an old-fashioned cruise-in to help raise funds for the Humane Society of Washignton County.

The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and will feature music from the 1950s, antique cars and ice cream.

Meadows will give away one small cone for every donation made to the shelter. Please consider this an invitation for all antique car enthusiasts to bring their vehicles to Meadows and share.
