SHHS class of 1989 planning reunion

American Little League to hold parents meeting

There will be a meeting of all parents of American Little League players who will be returning next season.

The meeting will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at the field. All parents are urged to attend.

Dinner and show set for battlefield

On Sunday, the United Way of Washington County will sponsor an evening of "Dinner, a Show and a Murder!"

The event will be held in the Mumma Barn at Antietam National Battlefield. Space is limited, so call the United Way office at 301-739-8200, ext. 12, to reserve a seat.


Women's Club plans Fall Frolic

The Women's Club, at 31 S. Prospect St., will host its Fall Frolic on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the club.

Garden club creations, baked goods, homemade items and a raffle for a Thanksgiving turkey dinner will take place.

Orders for chicken corn, vegetable beef, and ham and bean soups at $5 a quart and $2.50 a pint, apple dumplings at $2.75 each and country ham sandwiches at $2.50 each can be called in to the Women's Club at 301-739-0870 by Oct. 22.

Community yard sale set at Fairgrounds Park

A community yard sale will be held at Fairgrounds Park stables on Saturday, starting at 7 a.m.

It costs $15 per space and one table will be provided. For more information, call the recreation facilities coordinator at 301-739-8577, ext. 190.

That same day, a harvest hoedown will be held at Fairgrounds Park, starting at 1 p.m.

Hagerstown Lions Club

Tuesday - State Del. Andrew Serafini will be the guest speaker at the Hagerstown Lions Club. He will discuss what's happening in Annapolis.

Lion Bernie Lesky announced that the club has received a donation of a walker, potty chair and cane on Sept. 23 thanks to the generosity of Sharon Wilson.

Haunted Hager House

On Friday and Saturday, come to the Jonathan Hager House and Museum in City Park on Virginia Avenue to find out if the home of Hagerstown's founder is haunted. Tours will be at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Reservations are required and there is an admission charge.
