Mt. Carmel Church in Big Pool to mark milestone

Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church of the Potomac Charge, Big Pool, will celebrate its 125th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12.

On Oct. 11, at 4:30 p.m., St. Paul UMC will hold a ham and chicken potpie dinner, followed by a concert by Not Forgotten at 6 p.m. in honor of Mt. Carmel's 125th anniversary. Tickets cost $6.50 for adults and $3 for those 6 to 12. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free.

St. Paul's is at the corner of Ernstville Road and Tedrick Drive in Big Pool.

On Oct. 12, the church will have its regular worship service at 8:45 a.m. and church school at 10 a.m. A catered dinner will be held at 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul's UMC followed by a special celebration at Mt. Carmel UMC at 2 p.m. The church is asking former pastors and members to send remarks, greetings or remembrances that will be used during the service.
