Martinsburg man indicted in fatal Aug. 14 crash

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- A 22-year-old Martinsburg, W.Va., man has been indicted in connection with a fatal accident in Howard County, Md.

Joel Wareham was indicted on negligent manslaughter, negligent homicide while impaired and other charges.

He was accused of driving while under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 14 and causing an accident in Lisbon that killed 64-year-old Milton Bowens Sr. and injured five other people.

According to police, Wareham's car crossed the double yellow line on Frederick Road and struck a 2001 Ford Explorer head-on.

Wareham is being held on a $250,000 bond.
