Women's Club plans bargain saie

The Women's Club, at 31 S. Prospect St., will host its fall bargain sale Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Gently used clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and household merchandise will be available.

There will also be a book sale in the dining room, sponsored by AAUW.

Fall fashion, furniture show

The Women's Club will sponsor a fall fashion and furniture show at David's Furniture and Interiors, 117 Summit Ave., on Friday, Oct. 10, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fall fashions from Alter Ego, The Boutique, Figure Head II, L & L Classics and Lena's of Hagerstown will be available.

A $15 ticket includes refreshments and door prizes and may be reserved by calling at 301-739-0870.

Senior coalition to sponsor forum

On Monday, Oct. 6, beginning at 10 a.m., a senior forum will be held at the new senior center at Girls Inc.


The Washington County Delegation to the Maryland General Assembly will be available to speak with seniors regarding items that will be presented on behalf of senior citizens in Washington County during the next session.

Movie deal

On Friday, Regal Valley Mall Stadium 16 is giving away a free movie poster or other items from the film "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." The poster or gifts will be presented to those who donate items to benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.

A special collection box for the shelter will be set up in the lobby of the cinema in celebration of the new movie.
