An early-morning fire caused about $75,000 in damage to a behavioral health facility at 265 Mill St. in Hagerstown, the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office said.

Hagerstown firefighters responded to the fire at 1:27 a.m., and were there for several hours before clearing the scene at 7:38 a.m., a Washington County Emergency Services dispatcher said this morning.

The building is owned by Quality Care Internet, LLC, Deputy State Fire Marshal Ed Ernst said in a news release.

Someone passing by reported the fire, which caused about $25,000 in damage to the contents of the building.

The fire's cause is still under investigation, Ernst said.

Howard County Fire Department's Accelerant K9 unit also assisted at the scene.

Hagerstown firefighters, the Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway, the Community Rescue Service, Washington County Air Unit and Rehab unit responded.
