The Runnerz in the Night completed the 181-mile relay race from Cumberland, Md., to Arlington in 22 hours, 58 minutes, 42 seconds -- averaging 7:36 per mile.

Team members included Wayne Kretzer Jr. and Doug Oates, both of Hagerstown, Boonsboro graduate Eamon Connelly, of Frederick, Md., and South Hagerstown graduate Kevin Spradlin, of Ellerslie, Md.

ATHENS, W.Va. -- Gemma Nortcliffe scored on an assist from Kate Armentrout in the 98th minute to lift Concord to an overtime win over Shepherd.


Lauren Vetock had four saves for the Rams (5-5, 2-3 WVIAC), who were outshot 12-4.


Junior basketball registration

The Hagerstown Junior Basketball League will hold registration for its 61st season Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Western Heights Middle School; Wednesday from 6 to 8 at Eastern Elementary School; Thursday from 6 to 8 at E. Russell Hicks Middle School; and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti High School.

All returning players are required to register for the new season. The league is open to boys and girls in grades 4 through 8. Players may not turn 14 before Dec. 31.
