New Morgan County magistrate clerk appointed

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. --Cynthia Stotlers was appointed by 23rd Judicial Circuit judge Gina M. Groh as Morgan County's magistrate clerk.

She replaces  Frances Lutman who has been on leave due to illness, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia announced Monday.

Stotlers is scheduled to take the oath of office at 1 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the magistrate court building in Berkeley Springs. 

Groh, the presiding Circuit judge in Morgan County, will administer the oath.

Stotlers, who has been serving as "acting clerk" during Lutman's illness, has worked in magistrate clerk's office for nearly 20 years, according to a news release from the state's high court.

Lutman, who has been clerk for 30 years, is retiring effective Nov. 26, but will be on leave until that date, according to the announcement.
