Hagerstown AMVETS color guard wins national competition

Members of the local AMVETS Color Guard recently traveled to Orlando, Fla., for a national color guard competition.

The team, plus a support group, represented Washington County AMVETS Post 10 during the convention held Aug. 2 to Aug. 9.

The Post 10 team, of 770 Frederick St. in Hagerstown, took first place for the third straight year, according to a prepared release.

The group consisted of Rusty Baker, captain of the color guard and Post 10 commander; Mike Bolinger; and auxiliary members Joan Baker, Donna Tourney and Brenda Brelsford.

The support group consists of Gary and Linda Hoffman and Bobby Stouffer.
