The Smiths



Ron and Elaine Smith of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Village at Robinwood.

The party was cohosted by their nephew, Barry Tucker, and their friends, Dave Bennett and Richard and Myra Poffenberger. Fifty family members and friends attended the event.

The Smiths were married on March 22, 1958, at St. Paul's E.U.B. Church, now known as Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, by the Rev. Lester M. Kauffman and the Rev. Calvin Haverstock.

Mr. Smith is the son of Helen Smith who lives at Avalon Manor, and the late Edgar E. Smith. He retired from Pangborn Corporation after 34 years of service.

Mrs. Smith is the daughter of the late Ernest W. and Lela Mae Finniff, and Maude L. Finniff, stepmother. She retired from Hewlett-Packard Co. after 20 years of service.

They have a son, Todd, whose wife is Michelle, of Greencastle, Pa.; they have one granddaughter.

The Rectors



Donald and Neshia Rector of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a picnic at Indian Springs Camp Ground. The celebration was given by their son, Rodney Rector, daughter Sherrie Heller, and their families, friends and neighbors.

The Rectors were married on Aug. 29, 1958, at First Baptist Church in Hayti, Mo., by Dr. P.F. Herring. At the time of their marriage, Mr. Rector was stationed with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky., and Mrs. Rector was employed as a telephone operator at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

Mr. Rector is the son of Maria E. Woolford, of Homewood of Williamsport, and the stepson of the late Lawerence W. Woolford.

Mrs. Rector is the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Flowers.

Mr. Rector is retired from Eastalco Aluminum Co., in Frederick, Md.

Mrs. Rector is a homemaker.

Mr. Rector is a 1956 graduate of Hancock High School. Mrs. Rector is a 1956 graduate of Wardell High School, Wardell, Mo.

They have lived in Hagerstown since November 1975.

The Minnicks



Leon and Ravena Minnick of Williamsport celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a surprise family picnic given by their children, Debbie and Richard Shupp, Greg and Melody Minnick and Darryl Minnick.

The Minnicks were married on Aug. 27, 1948, by the Rev. Wade Huffman. They have six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Mr. Minnick worked most of his career in the vending business.

Mrs. Minnick, the former Ravena Forsyth, worked at Rosen's Department Store.
