Salem Lutheran Church, 17626 Bakersville Road, an 8 a.m. breakfast today kicks off a day of activities including a soup and sandwich sale at noon. There will be a yard sale and Longaberger basket raffle with proceeds going to the needy family fund.

St. John's Lutheran Church, West Martin and Queen streets, Martinsburg, W.Va., A Day for You will be today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a time for fellowship, Bible study, crafts and fun.

A House of Prayer for All People Deliverance Ministries, 116 E. Race St., Martinsburg, W.Va., pastoral anniversary services will continue tonight at 7 and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. with guest speakers.

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 443 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, on Saturday, Oct. 4, there will be a Blessing of the Animals from noon until 2 p.m. The Humane Society of Washington County will be at the church with animals available for adoption. Pet treats will be provided by Petco. Homemade ham and bean soup, vegetable soup, roast beef and city ham sandwiches will be sold. Parking is in the Washington Square United Methodist lot. Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Rohrersville is holding a yard sale, country ham sandwiches and baked goods sale on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The function will be held indoors at Friendship Hall at Md. 67 and Locust Grove Road. Furniture, clothing, children's toys and other items will be offered at the free yard sale (donations are accepted). Country ham sandwiches, homemade soups and baked goods will be on sale. Proceeds from this event will go to the Mount Zion needy family fund.
