Q: What prompted you to begin volunteering?

A: I joined the Clear Spring Lions Club in the early 1980s. I retired from the Maryland Division of Correction in 1992 and began volunteering at the food bank the same year.

Q: Your biggest reward as a volunteer?

A: It is a feeling that I am doing what the Lord wants us to do - He wants us to feed his children.

Q: What impact has volunteering had on your life?

A: My doctor told me never to quit anything I am doing. It is good for your health.

Q: What keeps you busy when you're not volunteering?

A: Church work and my nine grandchildren, one of whom is an opera singer.
