Director of Hancock-based Tri-State health clinic leaves

September 24, 2008

HANCOCK (AP) - The director of a federally funded clinic in Hancock that serves poor people in three states has resigned.

The Tri-State Community Health Center says Leslie Colbrese has left the organization.

Colbrese came under fire by some patients and members of the clinical staff in May after she fired the clinic's medical director, Dr. Matthew Hahn.

Hahn was dismissed after he tried to bring staff complaints about Colbrese's management style to the attention of the center's board of directors.

The health center serves poor people in parts of Western Maryland, south-central Pennsylvania and West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle.
