National Hunt and Fish Day Saturday
North American Rod and Gun Club will celebrate National Hunt and Fish Day on Saturday at the club.
There will be activities on the archery range, skeet range, trap range, still target range, rifle range, pistol range and BB gun range.
There will be speakers giving seminars on fur trapping, fall hunting, coon hunters, fly fishing and fly tying.
Maryland government agencies will also be on hand, including the Natural Resource Police with their "Wall of Shame."
Activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets cost $5, which covers all activities and includes a hamburger or hot dog, and soft drink. Anyone who buys a ticket and wishes to join the club will receive the ticket price off membership dues. The public is invited.

Food Drive for Food Resources Inc.
Port City Java in the Long Meadow Shopping Center is holding a food drive for Food Resources Inc. until Oct. 15. Nonperishable food items can be deposited in the container in the cafe or dropped off through the drive-through window.
