The Daleys

Charles H. and Rose Daley of Hagerstown celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 22, with a surprise buffet dinner party at Western Sizzlin Steak House, hosted by their daughter Peggy and their son-in-law Don Kershner, their two grandsons, two great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.

A three-tiered cake was served.

The Daleys were married on June 26, 1943, in Hagerstown, by the Rev. Simon Kenny, now deceased.

The Gossards

William and Kathleen Gossard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party on Aug. 23, 2008, at Mont Alto, Pa. firehall. The party was hosted by four of their children and their spouses: Mike and Patty Gossard, Robbie and Roberta Gossard, Krista and Troy Bookheimer and Katy and Stuart Watson.

The Gossards were married Aug. 30, 1958, at St. Mary Catholic Church by the Rev. Harsh.

Mr. Gossard is a retired district manager for the Martins Food Corporation in Carlisle, Pa., as well as a retired command chief master sergeant serving 39 years in the 167th Tactical Airlift Group in Martinsburg, W.Va.


Mrs. Gossard, the former Kathleen Schleigh, retired as an executive secretary from C.M. Offray/Maryland Ribbon Co. in Hagerstown.

The Gossards have five children and 10 grandchildren.

They retired to Palm Coast, Fla., however, they are building a home in Waynesboro, Pa., and plan to return to the area this fall.

The Brickers

Robert and Jean Bricker Jr. of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27, 2008. A family gathering was held in July at Hilton Head, S.C., where their children and families presented them with an Alaskan cruise tour.

The Brickers were married at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Leitersburg, in 1958. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
