Fellowship Church of the Brethren, 505 Blossom Drive, Martinsburg, just south of Tablers Station Road along U.S. 11, Sunday at 6 p.m., a service in observation of the International Day of Prayer for Peace. People will gather to pray for military peace throughout the world, an end to drug-related violence in the streets and domestic violence in the home. Salem Lutheran Church, 17626 Bakersville Road, an 8 a.m. breakfast will start a day of activities Saturday, Sept. 27. A soup and sandwich sale begins at noon. There will be a yard sale and Longaberger basket raffle, with all proceeds going toward the needy family fund.
