MCEA official announces resignation from position

September 16, 2008|By ERIN JULIUS

Maryland Classified Employees Association (MCEA) Western Maryland Regional Governor Larry D. Kump on Sunday announced his resignation from that office.

Kump retired from his position as a case manager at Roxbury Correctional Institution south of Hagerstown in June but has remained active in his MCEA position.

Because of his resignation, however, Kump was unable to participate as part of a task force studying prison violence, though he did attend its first meeting in June.

In an e-mail announcement, Kump said MCEA officer positions should be held by MCEA members who actively working in the Maryland prison system.
